Title: Annual Club Championships
Posted on: Sunday, December 16, 2007, 18:09 PM
After a very successful Annual Club Championship, enjoyed by all; a very well done to all the judoka
that took part. There was some excellent judo and lots of fun in the team event. Congratulations
go to 'Most Improved Player' JACOB SOWMAN, who has gained confidence and has shown lots of techniques
in his judo. Our 2007 'Judoka of the Year' is MATTHEW STEWARD, who has deserved this award after gaining
the Area Age, Area Open, National Closed and National Open Championships, in addition to his junior brown
belt grade. This is Matthew's last year as a junior and we hope he continues his success as a senior.

A recent Executive Area Meeting confirmed the following rule regarding the use of inhalers at competitions:
'Inhalers will be allowed mat-side, but if they are used during the contest,
the competitor will be withdrawn from that contest (only) - scoring no points.
They will be allowed to continue in the weight category'.

Title: Welcome back
Posted on: Saturday, January 6, 2007, 11:52 AM
Welcome back and thanks to all those parents/guardians/judokas who promptly paid their annual AJA fees by 15th December 2006.
They have been passed on to our Area Secretary, who informs me that they have now been sent to our head office in Birmingham,
ready for the issue of renewal slips. These should be with us (hopefully) by the end of January or early February.
Members' fees paid after this date will be with the Area Secretary early w/c 8th January 2007 and then he will proceed as above.
Judokas who may be grading in March, please ensure that you know your syllabus 100% and that your gi's are not too short in
the arms and legs. If you have any queries then see Dale.
